چکیده
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the role of carotid ultrasonography and measure artery intima-media thickness (CIMT) its correlation with hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) observe cardiovascular disease (CVD) risks in patients type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods: In this observational study, 205 consecutive T2DM from Golestan Hospital, Ahvaz, Iran, were included. We performed HbA1c measurements using high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) a thermo-system. Carotid arteries was an Aloka SSD 5500 apparatus 7.5 MHz transducer. The CIMT measured supine position slight neck extension. Results: There no statistically significant difference between two groups duration (P = 0.425), while differences creatinine, HbA1c, urine albumin 0.020, P 0.041, 0.016, respectively). age (r 0.19, 0.792) 0.125, 0.081). Furthermore, there remarkable association weight 0.12, 0.881) FBS ( r 0.062, 0.405). also non-significant negative HbA1c% -0.127, 0.127). Conclusions: Ultrasound measurement is safe relatively cost-effective way diagnosing atherosclerosis. Thus, ultrasound's predictive value as non-invasive examination may alert related field experts early enough intervene prevent major complications.

Comparison of the Intima-media Thickness of Carotid Artery in Children with Diabetes Type One and Control Group Using Ultrasound
Background & Aims: Diabetes is a very important factor for stroke due to blocked blood vessels. It can involve systemic and cerebrovascular arteries at the same time via microangiopathy and macroangiopathy. This project aimed to compare the intima-media thickness of carotid artery in children with diabetes type and the control group. Methods: In this case-control study, 50 children with the age...
متن کاملTriglyceride Levels and Its Correlation with Carotid Intima-media Thickness
The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between triglyceride (TG) levels and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT). There are very few Indian studies examining this correlation. The study was conducted on 194 persons from Karnataka. 145 were diabetics (74 females and 71 males), the remaining 49 subjects were age and sex matched controls. All the diabetics had an HbA1c of less than...
متن کاملDecreased Intima-Media Carotid Artery Thickness after 24 Sessions of Combined Aerobic and Resistance Exercise in Type 2 Diabetic Patients
Background and Objective: Diabetes type 2 has been estimated as the seventh leading cause of death worldwide. Diabetic patients are 2-3 times more likely to be at the risk of atherosclerosis, compared to normal people. It has been reported that exercise prevents atherosclerosis in diabetic patients. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise on vascular variables...
